Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

MyLabour is an Android application developed and published as an independent app. If you have questions about this policy, you can contact us at support@mylabour.app.

2. What data we collect

None.

MyLabour does not collect, transmit, store remotely, or process any personal data. This includes but is not limited to:

Health data or contraction records
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Location data
Usage analytics or app behaviour
Crash reports or diagnostic data
Names, email addresses, or contact information

We have no mechanism to collect data and no infrastructure to receive it.

3. Where your data is stored

All contraction data recorded in MyLabour is stored exclusively in a local database on your device (Android Room database). This data:

Never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it using the in-app export function
Is not backed up to any cloud service by the app itself
Is permanently deleted when you uninstall the app or use the "Clear All" function

        Note on Android backups: If you have Android's built-in device backup enabled (Google One Backup), your device may back up app data to your Google account as part of your device backup. This is a device-level setting outside our control. You can disable app backup for MyLabour in your Android settings if you prefer.
      

4. Partner sync and Wear OS

MyLabour's shared tracking feature uses Google Nearby Connections to create a direct peer-to-peer connection between devices via Bluetooth and local Wi-Fi.

No contraction data passes through any server or third-party service during sync
The connection is local only, so both devices must be physically nearby
No data is retained by the Nearby Connections API after the session
Wear OS data sync works through the standard Android Wearable Data Layer, which operates locally between your phone and watch

5. Permissions

MyLabour requests the following Android permissions, used solely for the features described:

Bluetooth & Nearby Wi-Fi: Required for peer-to-peer partner sync. Not used for any other purpose.
Notifications: Required to send pattern detection alerts when the app is in the background.
Wake lock: Keeps the app running accurately during active tracking so contractions are not missed.

We do not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location, or any other sensitive permissions.

6. Third parties

MyLabour does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-sharing services. We do not use:

Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics
Crashlytics or any crash reporting service
Facebook SDK or any social SDKs
Any advertising networks

The app is distributed via Google Play. Google's own terms apply to the Play Store platform itself, but MyLabour does not pass any user data to Google beyond what is standard for any Android app installation.

7. Children

MyLabour is intended for use by adults. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

8. Medical disclaimer

        MyLabour is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. It is a tracking and logging tool for informational purposes only. The contraction patterns detected (5-1-1, 4-1-1, 3-1-1) are based on general NHS and healthcare guidelines, but labour is unique to every individual. Always follow the specific advice of your midwife, doctor, or healthcare provider. If you experience an emergency, call 999 immediately.
      

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date. Given that we collect no data, any changes are likely to be minor clarifications.
